Our Origin
DNA Group was founded in 1986 as a one-man contracting company built on craftsmanship, accountability, and hands-on construction experience.
As the company grew, the next generation joined the business on site, helping expand the firm through residential construction, full home renovations, insurance restoration work, and commercial fit-outs. Over time, as projects increased in scale and complexity, DNA evolved to support broader technical and organizational demands.
Design later became a central part of the firm’s identity, strengthening DNA’s ability to align aesthetic vision with execution and deliver more integrated project outcomes.
Today, DNA Group continues as a family-owned and owner-operated firm, supporting increasingly complex residential, commercial, and industrial projects—grounded in the values on which it was built.

Daniel Aita
President & Managing Principal
Daniel Aita is President and Managing Principal of DNA Group, where he leads the company’s vision, operations, and long-term growth.
He spent over a decade working hands-on in the field before transitioning into leadership, building a foundation rooted in real construction execution. That experience continues to shape how the firm approaches projects, ensuring decisions are grounded in practical building knowledge and real-world delivery.
Daniel operates at the intersection of design, construction, and business leadership. His experience spans site execution, project management, pre-construction strategy, and consultant and trade coordination, allowing him to guide projects from early planning through delivery.
Today, he focuses on positioning DNA as a disciplined, technically capable, and client-focused firm supporting increasingly complex residential and commercial projects
Ben Aita
Founder | Construction Leadership
Ben Aita founded DNA Group in 1986 and built the company through decades of hands-on construction work.
Beginning as a one-man operation, Ben established DNA through residential construction, full home renovations, insurance restoration projects, and commercial fit-outs across the Greater Toronto Area. His career has been defined by practical problem-solving, deep technical understanding, and an unwavering commitment to craftsmanship.
Ben became known not only for the quality of his work, but for the way he conducted himself—earning long-standing trust from clients and respect from trades. His standards of integrity, reliability, and pride of craft remain embedded in DNA’s culture and continue to guide the firm’s construction leadership today.
Ben remains an active, hands-on presence within the company and continues to be deeply involved on site. His genuine enjoyment of the work, strong relationships, and steady leadership reinforce the values on which DNA was built.
Lina Aita
Principal Designer
Lina Aita leads the design direction of DNA Group, shaping the firm’s aesthetic, spatial approach, and material language across residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
Prior to joining DNA, she worked with builders and developers throughout the Greater Toronto Area and executed design projects across Ontario, Mexico, New York, and Florida.
What distinguishes Lina is her time spent on site working directly with trades. Her understanding of how spaces are built informs every design decision, grounding aesthetics in constructability and coordination.
As Principal Designer, she plays a central role in aligning design intent with execution, ensuring that concepts are not only refined, but realistic, buildable, and carried through to completion.
Through her leadership, design has become an integral part of DNA’s identity—elevating the firm’s work and strengthening the connection between vision, detail, and built reality.
